Warm orange-to-red carnelian with a glassy translucence — embers caught in stone. Shaped and tumbled to sit comfortably in the palm of your hand.
Carnelian is chalcedony tinted by traces of iron oxide. Bead makers of the Indus Valley were drilling and heat-treating carnelian over 4,500 years ago — gently baking the stone to deepen its color, one of the oldest gem treatments known.
